Year 7 journey along the River Cuckmere
After three informative trips to The Seven Sisters Country Park, Year 7 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School completed their journey along the course of the River Cuckmere. Throughout the trips the pupils saw and sketched the famous old meanders and learned why the river doesn't flow around them. They also looked for evidence of former erosion and deposition on either side of an old meander. They walked to the mouth of the river and saw how it has been defended and managed in the past. Throughout the journey the pupils were asked to think about the effects of the plans to restore the natural estuary; the effects on people as well as on the environment and asked to make a judgement on what they would prefer to happen.
