Year 8 trip to The Natural History Museum
Year 8 pupils from St Bede’s Prep School were taken to London to visit the Natural History Museum and its Earth Science galleries as part of their Geography studies.
The pupils had an entertaining workshop entitled 'Rocks the House', in which they learned more about plate tectonics. They considered the geological attributes of a deep fried Mars bar in comparison to the earth's structure and attempted to put together a room sized puzzle of the earth's plates. They then had time in the galleries where they learned about what it would be like to be caught up in a volcanic eruption and an earthquake.
