Pupils Chosen For Lead Roles
29 January 2008
Two pupils from St Bede's Prep School have been chosen from a number of children in the area for two of the lead roles in the forthcoming Eastbourne Operatic and Dramatic Society production of Oliver.
Charles Carr, age 11, from Wilmington will be performing as Oliver alongside drama scholar Oliver Taplin, age 12, from Pevensey as the Artful Dodger. Several other children from St Bede's have been chosen for the chorus.
Lionel Bart's fabulous feel-good musical about the adventures of the orphan
boy, Oliver, will bring great family entertainment to the stage of the Congress
Theatre for the May half-term week. Based on Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, it was the first musical adaptation of a Dickens novel to become a stage hit.
