Arts Festival
12 November 2008
This Saturday St Bede's Prep School in Eastbourne will be holding its fourth annual Arts Festival and, this year, the emphasis is on the visual arts. Five professional artists have been working with the pupils in their weekly art lessons and the results will be on show in an Art Exhibition at the school opening on Saturday November 15th, from 10 - 12.30 pm. Parents and friends are welcome to come to a private view of the pupils' work. The exhibition will continue throughout the Arts Festival and both the pupil and professional work will be for sale, using a bidding system, in aid of charity.
The Arts Festival will also include lunchtime concerts by the pupils in the School's chapel, and Loraine Worrall, an actress and parent of one of the School's pupils, will be giving two talks and performances to year 8 pupils in the School's theatre.
As St Bede's also has it's own Legat School and many enthusiastic and talented dancers, they are very excited that The University of Brighton Dance Company will be performing in St Bede's sports hall on Monday 17th, which should be of great value in preparation for the choreography competition which is open to all pupils and will take place on Tuesday 18th. Two days of dance will also be held on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th, and it is hoped that as many parents and friends as possible will come to watch.
