Life as a Day Pupil

On Saturdays, I catch the bus from my stop at 7.25am. I sit with my friends and we always have a fantastic time. I normally get to school at 8.30am, but sometimes we arrive earlier.

When I get to school I go to my form room (7B) and put my bag in my locker. We are allowed to decorate the insides of our lockers and last Saturday I found a sweet message from my best friend. Next we had sing-song and we practised some of the songs from our play ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

We then had Maths and at the moment we are learning about finding the Nth term and number sequences.

After that we have English (one of my favourite subjects) and we’re writing a story based on ‘Examination Day’ and reading ‘Face’ by Benjamin Zephaniah. We have Library Time where we can choose one of the many fantastic reading books for when we have finished prep. We have a 20 minute break and a biscuit, to run around on the field or in the playground. After break I go to Chamber Choir. I have singing lessons and am working towards my Grade V exam this term.

I have to leave choir early and go to collect some other students because I am one of the children that goes riding at the Senior School. We have a fantastic lunch at the Prep School (usually we have waffles, syrup and ice-cream for pudding) and then get school transport to the Senior School.

The riding is fantastic as the school supplies protective hats and boots for those children that have forgotten them or don’t own them. Two boarders go in school kit and return by school transport.

Saturday is my favourite day because I get to ride and it is the start of the weekend.
