About the School

St Bede’s Senior School is a co-educational boarding school for 13-18-year-olds, set in the heart of beautiful Sussex countryside. Day students travel from across Sussex and, with many boarding students from around the world, we are also truly international.

Seven miles away, on the edge of the South Downs, is our Preparatory School which caters for children from two years to thirteen. We place a premium on moral and spiritual values, encouraging our students to deepen their chosen faith, in an atmosphere in which all beliefs can flourish. We are proudly non-selective in terms of academic merit, yet our students achieve outstanding examination results. Our staff to student ratio gives us the flexibility to shape the daily curriculum around the needs of individual students, identifying their abilities and developing them. All of our staff contribute to life beyond the classroom through their commitment to club and sporting activities.

Everything we do focuses on the needs of the students. Through nurturing the individual, our students grow up ready to live in the outside world and be confident in what they can achieve.
