School Development
Our campus, originally developed at the beginning of the 20th century by the colourful financier and MP Horatio Bottomley, is a network of country houses, cottages, stables, coach-houses, kennels and landscaped grounds.
Some have been adapted as classrooms and studios, while other purpose built houses are home to our large boarding community. The grounds, of around 80 acres, provide a beautiful, secure setting in which our students can learn and pursue a wealth of sporting and recreational activities.
Since our foundation in 1978, we have added many purpose-built features, including the superb Perrin teaching and day-house block, two new boarding houses and a multi-purpose hall. Recently we have opened the Miles Studios that incorporates the Legat Dance School as well as studio and performance areas for the Performing Arts. In all our development, we have been careful to retain the School’s qualities of proportion and charm.
In the next year, there are plans to begin the building of two new boarding houses and a music centre.
