Easter in Dubai for St Bede's cricketers
06 February 2008
St Bede’s Senior School’s 1st XI cricket squad is off to Dubai during the Easter holidays to take part in the schools’ version of the Arch Trophy.
Says coach Simon Gough: ‘This will provide our players with an ideal pre-season preparation in a hot, but consistent climate and it is also great that whilst we are there professional players from Sussex, Lancashire, Somerset, Essex and Yorkshire will be taking part in a Pro Tournament. Amongst them will be Sussex player and former St Bede’s student Ollie Rayner, who also coaches at St Bede’s during the winter’.
St Bede’s cricket is constantly developing under the expert guidance of Alan Wells, the former Sussex, Kent and England star. In May the School will host is annual Cricket Week when the 1st XI and 2nd XI will play amongst others the MCC and Forty Club.
