Fast track students are a success
17 September 2008
Celebrating achieving their Maths GCSE two years early, are 10 students from St Bede’s Senior School.
The six boys and four girls all sat the exam at the end of their first year and achieved eight A*s and two As between them. All are now studying Maths at Advanced Supplementary level with Doc Carroll, the teacher who fast-tracked them through GCSE. In addition to their maths success, Henry Todman and Tom Lucas both acquired their GCSE in ICT, an A* and A were in the bag for these boys.

St Bede’s operates a Curriculum Enhancement Programme which means that students who are particularly talented in certain subjects can take examinations earlier than normal.
This summer 10 lower fifth students sat their GCSE English Literature and Language exams after completing the courses in one year. They achieved 13 A*s and 7 grade As between them and most are continuing their English studies to AS level with the same teacher, Neil Gill.
