English Lessons

Studying English is important and students are expected to work hard

  • The objective of these lessons is to improve students' receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing skills) to prepare them for the challenge of studying main school subjects in English
  • Different levels for students of different abilities (pre-intermediate to advanced)
  • Maximum class size of 15 students
  • 15 hours of lessons per week
  • Qualified teachers
  • Weekly progress checks
  • Departure certificate and report from teacher

Subject Lessons

  • Students will study a range of academic subjects with the objective of not only deepening their knowledge in the subject area but also gaining a first-hand and practical insight into learning and studying in the UK
  • Lessons taught 100% in English
  • Different academic levels (pre-GCSE, GCSE and A Level)
  • A Level students can choose some of their subjects
  • Maximum class size of 15 students
  • At least 15 hours of lessons per week
  • Homework will be given - this may be individual or group work
  • Subject teachers have a degree in their teaching subject and have some teaching experience
  • Academic report from teacher at the end of the course

Workshops

  • Students will attend special seminars and workshops where the objective is to give them practical, social and cultural information about life in the UK. These sessions will be informative and interactive and will include:
  • Study Skills and Revision Techniques
  • Life in a UK Boarding School
  • UK Laws and Social Norms
  • How to Deal with Problems and Overcome Homesickness
  • How to Participate in Class
