Activities and Excursions
Learning English continues after class; students use English all day, every day, talking to staff and making new friends with children from other countries. The Activity Programme helps students to learn new vocabulary specific to the activity as well as develop the language of social interaction and increase oral fluency. Students enjoy doing many different activities, sports and games because they are having fun but, at the same time, they are using English - it is the natural way to learn.
- Organised activities every afternoon and evening (please see the section School Day for a sample timetable)
- Students are always busy
- Students must join activities - activity time is not free time
- Sometimes students choose activities, sometimes everyone does the same activity
- Many different sports available, also art and drama
- Many games with teams arranged by staff to encourage different nationalities to mix
- Some activities may be off-site
- Activities are supervised by staff with the recommended staff-student ratios
